Documentation
PlotLoom documentation — structured canon, Loom Check, proposals, and export, explained without ceremony.
PlotLoom is the story engine that keeps your serialized fiction's canon consistent. Your story lives as structured canon — characters, places, world rules, a timeline — and every chapter is checked against it.
A few ideas worth knowing before you start:
- Canon is the source of truth: characters, world entries, axioms, and the event timeline for a project.
- Loom Check reads a chapter against all prior canon and leaves margin notes — dropped threads, timeline tangles, unfired Chekhov guns — in an editor's voice, never an error log.
- Proposals are how AI touches canon: every suggestion (from a draft, an import, or the Writing Room) lands as a reviewable proposal. Nothing merges without your approval.
- Export is always available: chapters as Markdown, HTML, or docx; the whole project as a structured YAML zip that can be restored later.
